Tigers win second straight Class 3A boys state cross country championship, fifth in 11 years

November 4, 2024

Two things we should all remember about winning a state championship …

1. It never gets old.

2. It never gets taken for granted because you never know if or when it will happen again.

Jacob Tallman (left) and Carson Squiers both earned their second straight Class 3A all-state honors at the 2024 state cross country meet. Tallman placed fourth and Squiers was sixth to help Gilbert claim a second straight team title.

Congratulations again to our coaches and student-athletes on today’s boys cross country Class 3A state championship. It’s the program’s second straight and fifth overall in the last 11 seasons, and the Tigers set the all-time 3A scoring record.

It was a magical season, and this is a magical team. Maybe the best 3A has ever seen.
